Palace Cinema Christmas collection

We’re absolutely delighted that The Palace Cinema Broadstairs chose Cheerful Sparrows to receive their local charity collection this Christmas.

From Fri 5th December until the end of the month, people can donate using the collection tin in the cinema foyer. Another way to donate is to scan the QR code that’s projected on the big screen before each one of this month’s wonderful films. The QR code links you straight to our website, where it’s easy to make a one-off donation, or offer regular support as a Friend of Cheerful Sparrows.

Huge thanks to everyone at the cinema for helping us mark the end of our centenary year!

Help to buy fridge + washing machine

I want to say how grateful I am. After being rejected by other charities, the Council and DWP, I was worrying how to cope with two children as a single parent living off student finance. Your work does change lives, it gives hope when people are at their most fragile and have nowhere to turn. Please continue, because people like me need your kindness.

Sensory toys for an autistic child

The items have been received and look great. Mum was extremely grateful for the tent and the toys! The child was sitting in the tent when I arrived and spent most of the time in there! Thank you ever so much.

Vacuum cleaner donation

The family are so pleased that they can now clean the floors of all the crumbs dropped by the four children at home over the school holidays. They’d like to thank you for making it happen.
