The Cheerful Sparrows Thanet Charity held a fundraising event on 1st September 2018 at Westwood Cross Thanet. It was the last Saturday of the school holidays - a beautifully sunny day. We raised just under £100. Thanks to everyone who donated to our cause.

The Charity would like to thank those who donated £85 in memory of Brian Kemp. Every sum donated goes toward helping patients on the Cheerful Sparrows Wards at the QEQM Hospital or to those in need in the Thanet Community.
Lorna and Mary held another very successful Quiz Night on behalf of the Charity on 4th April 2018 at the Elephant and Castle Pub. The sum raised, which included a single donation of £100, was an amazing £433!! Thank you to everyone who participated, generously donated their time and money and of course to Lorna
Our Chairperson Janis Buckley was asked to speak to St Peter's Womens Group. The Group held a silent auction and after Janis' talk they made a further collection. At the end of a successful evening they handed Janis a generous £260 which will be used to help the needy in Thanet. Many thanks to everyone
The Charity received a generous donation from the daughter of a lady who was a patient on Cheerful Sparrows Ward. Alice Culmer has asked that the £300 will go toward items to help with patient care on the Ward. Many thanks from the Charity and the Ward Staff .
On a chilly Thursday evening in February the committee members were invited to attend the Heart of the Community Awards Ceremony at St Augustine's Westgate-on-Sea. After a delicious meal we were delighted to learn that we had won £2000 toward The Cheerful Sparrows Thanet Charity. A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us.
